The purpose of this document is to define the process for CEDIA’s travel and recompense for its volunteer instructors.
CEDIA sets the policy for travel and recompense for volunteer instructors for ISE, Amsterdam. CEDIA’s instructor travel policy and travel reimbursement and expense guidelines are equitable and fair to all parties and allow CEDIA business to be conducted in a manner that is safe, efficient, and cost-effective.
ISE instructors are vital components to the success of the show and CEDIA education as a whole, and they contribute to the success of the custom electronics industry.
Instructors teaching full day courses (6 hours or more):
CEDIA agrees to pay the instructor travel cost up to €200 (Euro) regardless the mode of transportation. This may include airplane, train or ferry tickets. CEDIA does not provide travel reimbursement for co-instructors, additional guests, classroom assistants, etc.
Primary instructors receive one (1) complimentary hotel night for each day instructing (or moderating a panel discussion).
Special note: If it is indicated that the instructor does NOT need CEDIA to make a travel arrangements, and/or he/she opts to stay at a hotel outside of CEDIA's room block, this releases CEDIA from any obligation to make hotel arrangements. CEDIA will reimburse the instructor for the nights he is eligible for up to 200 Euro per night.
Primary CEDIA instructors, will receive a per diem of €25 (Euro) for each DAY that he/she teaches (based upon HM Revenue and Customs Worldwide Subsistence Rates). Per Diems are to be used to cover breakfast and lunch meals within the hours of the ISE show.
Instructors teaching less than 6 hours:
Travel and Accommodation
CEDIA will not provide travel and accommodation reimbursement for instructors who are teaching 3 hours and/or 90 minutes long sessions. Those instructors have been invited to teach for CEDIA based on the agreement that they will be attending the ISE show as part of their regular business.
Primary CEDIA instructors, will receive a per diem of €25 (Euro) for each DAY that he/she teaches (based upon HM Revenue and Customs Worldwide Subsistence Rates). Per diems are to be used to cover breakfast and lunch meals within the hours of the show. Presenters for CEDIA Talks will receive no per diem.
NOTE: CEDIA reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy for individuals who have contributed to over 18 hours of volunteer time during the last 12 months.
